I had the pleasure of leading another group of new students on the New Student Day of Service. It is a tradition run by Mission & Ministry that gathers new students together before classes start, and sends them to different service sites across the greater Boston Area. My fellow Orientation Leader, Ben, and I took 40 students to the Hawthorne Youth & Community Center. We learned about food deserts, gathered fresh vegetables from their on-site garden, and delivered those veggies to neighbors in the community. I love the way that EC Students team up on that day to volunteer and give back to our surrounding communities, and it is a great way to connect with other students that maybe someone has yet to meet.
